ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Samos. Circa 512 BC. Triobol (Silver, 10 mm, 1.52 g, 6 h), Samian standard. Facing head of a panther. Rev. Head of a bull to left within triple square border of dots between double lines; all within incuse square. Barron p. 175, 1 and pl. V, 1a. HGC 6, 1194. SNG Fitzwilliam 4634. Very rare. A beautiful piece, lightly toned and sharply struck. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.
